The mission of the Governor's Small Business Regulatory Reform Initiative is to identify and develop a process that will help reduce any unique burdens that small businesses have in complying with state-level rules and regulations.

Successes in other states have shown that excessive regulation can be reduced and the economic environment improved, without sacrificing important regulatory goals such as higher environmental quality, greater safety and better workplace conditions. In addition, as new rules are promulgated, the process will ensure that compliance-related concerns of small businesses are considered before the rule is implemented.
